I am always fascinated by the looks coming through from the /European Runways , but as a professional makeup artist , I need to translate these into an everyday look I can recommend and use on my clients
Fresh Faces with the Demise of Contouring
This season we saw fresh faces with a reflective dewy glow and the demise of contouring,
Use highlight to the high points of the face to draw attention there by creating definition without overdoing it
Two keys steps to create this look is to layer luminous primer (# Becca First Light Priming Filter RRP $65) under your favourite lightweight foundation and use an illuminating highlighting powder with a soft iridescent glow.
When looking for the perfect highlighter for your skin tone ( BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed) This purse size compact in 5 unique shades so you can find the perfect highlighter for your individual skin
Breakout the blush
A bright blush ( BECCA Luminous Blush RRP $42) blended perfectly onto the apples of the cheeks is a fresh take this summer. I find it easiest to apply the blush with one brush and have a larger one on hand to blend it out with. The easiest way to find the apple of your cheek is to give yourself a cheesy smile in the mirror and up they pop
Bold Pop Lips
Anything goes this summer as long as you turn up the volume, from neon pink to pillar box red and orange sherbet, bold pop lips are right on trend. Use this trend to step outside your comfort zone, visit the MAC counter at you nearest department store and pick up a Amplified Lipstick in Mornage. My all-time favourite for an orange pout with a creamy opaque finish.
Starry Starry Nights
Finally, to translate one of the biggest trends this season seen all over the European Runways into an easy to wear option is to use a touch of metallic highlight on the inner corners of your eyes and create a halo across your top lip, bringing an elegant twist to a glittery trend. Mastering this top trend for 2018 requires only one or two glitter pots as opposed to the classic Smokey eye which requires a whole pallet. Go high impact with a pigmented glitter metallic swept across the whole lid or keep it simple with a dash of soft metal in the inner corners, it really is a very versatile trend.
